Accelerating Students Toward College & Career Success

Programs of Study

This class will provide an overview of animation concepts. Students learn 3-D design techniques and use them to create unique designs. Students often work with a variety of materials, including clay and paper-mache, to develop images that can be used to create computer or print designs.

Introduces basic automotive skills and job opportunities in the auto repair industry. Topics include engine theory, automotive preventive maintenance, brake repair, electrical systems, trouble shooting, safety, test equipment, small engine repair, and measuring.

Technical and professional level careers in designing, planning, managing, building and maintaining built environments. Work-based learning strategies appropriate for this course include apprenticeship, cooperative education, internship, and job shadowing. The course curriculum for students is Carpentry.

ABOUT

Harding University High School (HUHS) Institute of Technology is a countywide magnet program. Any student within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area can register as a student. It does not matter what middle the student is attending. Every student will participate in challenging Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, designed to blend theory and application for preparation for a globally competitive and technologically advanced society. The three areas of focus are: 1) Automotive Technology, 2) Construction Technology, and 3) 3D Design and Digital Manufacturing.
