Harding University High School Institute of Technology
College and Career Speed Dating
November 30, 2017

Greetings from the staff and students of Harding University High School Institute of Technology! We are planning an exciting College and Career Speed Dating event at Harding University High School November 30, 2017. The purpose of Career Week is to help students understand how their current educational and personal choices will affect their future life roles, in particular their choices for a career.

The objective of Career Week at Harding is to help young people prepare for their transition into the workforce or college by providing assistance in career planning. It will also help students understand what steps are required to gain entry in the field of their choice. There are three focus areas for Career Week:
1. Students should discover the types of training and education needed for different careers.
2. Students should find out about their strengths, interests, goals, and personal style.
3. Students will examine options available to them as they explore industries, careers, training, and education.
Some teens have difficulty seeing a connection between what they learn in school and how they can apply what they learn to their future careers. This is where we ask that you or a representative from your company to come out for our during our event.
